About Me
I became a counsellor and therapist after twenty-five years as a University Lecturer in English Literature. I started my counselling training in 2003 to feed into my role offering one-to-one pastoral support to students as they navigated their transition into independence and adulthood. Alongside that face-to-face aspect of my work, I've always felt that studying literature is about exploring human psychology and relationships - between individuals, in families and other groups, and in society at large. Gathering all that together and carrying it with me into the counselling and therapy world still feels like a natural next step on the path I've been following through my working life.
In addition to working with private clients, I am the in-house counsellor at a South Manchester GP group practice.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
